The Nordic EMBL Partnership offers a network of advanced technology platforms and core facilities that support high-quality molecular medicine research. Accessible to scientists within all nodes and, in many cases, to external users, these infrastructures promote collaboration and innovation across the Nordic research landscape.
Genomics Unit
FIMM - University of Helsinki
Medical genomics and transcriptomics, including NGS and long read DNA and RNA sequencing, targeted amplicon and Sanger sequencing as well as targeted protein and RNA assay services. We offer our expertise from experimental design to tailored solutions for basic and translational research.
High Throughput Biomedicine Unit
FIMM - University of Helsinki
Screening of approved and investigational drugs and other biomolecules. We provide support for a variety of assay types, e.g., drug sensitivity and resistance testing, cell-based and biochemical assays, probe discovery, high throughput flow cytometry, biological profiling, etc.

High throughput whole-slide scanning services. We offer quick, high-quality and cost-efficient wide-field microscope imaging for bright field and fluorescence.

A national research infrastructure for electron microscopy. We provide training, instruments and methods for transmission and scanning electron microscopy, cryo-EM and correlative light and electron microscopy.​
The JOINT
DANDRITE - Aarhus University
A workshop for neuro-scientific research using electrophysiology, optogenetics, and behavioral approaches. We house state-of-the-art equipment for simultaneous imaging and multiple whole-cell recordings, in vitro and in rodents.
Single Cell Analytics Unit
FIMM - University of Helsinki
Single cell transcriptomics services in collaboration with the FIMM Technology Centre units. We provide single-cell genomics, multi-omics and spatial transcriptomics services using commercial platforms and academic workflows.

Nationwide network for NMR and metabolomics. We provides access to state-of-the-art NMR equipment and expertise for metabolomics on fluids and intact tissues and studies of soluble and membrane proteins, amyloid fibrils and more.
HIPrep Core
FIMM - University of Helsinki
Sample preparation for nucleid acid, single cell and extracellular vesicle (EV) analysis. We offer workflows for preparation of high-quality nucleic acids from various biological samples, including RNA and DNA isolation, clean-up, quality control and normalization services. Our EV core provides EV isolation services, electron microscopy sample preparation and RNA isolation and quality check from EV samples.
High-Throughput Chemical Biology Screening Platform

High-content, high-throughput imaging and image analysis. We provide automated high-content screening microscopes, a spinning-disk confocal with live imaging option and a widefield, and guidance for image analysis and data management.
Zebrafish Facility

State-of-the-art zebrafish housing, breeding and experimentation. We offer expertise, access to the facility and instrumentation for microinjection, behavioral tracking and chemical screening, larvae manipulation and imaging.
Sample Storage Unit
FIMM - University of Helsinki
Automated, cost-effective biological sample storage. We provide low-cost, secure and controlled storage of samples in liquid nitrogen vapor phase.
